Coffee - Castello & Vulcano

Matthias Staubach, Regina Goldbach and André Fleck had the idea of offering an own coffee in the community of Hofbieber in 2018. In May of the following year, the Italian attitude towards life spread its fragrant aroma in Hofbieber with two new coffee varieties.

In cooperation with the coffee roasting company COPPA DORÒ from Wanfried, the right partner was found in Winfried Gärtner. André Fleck has the two coffee delights roasted especially for us in the small regional family roastery in northern Hesse. "Castello" and "Vulcano", as the official coffee of the partnership, have kindled another passion in us.

Castello

Visitors to Hofbieber can see it from afar - elegantly and harmoniously situated high on the Kugelberg in the Langenbieber district - the baroque Bieberstein Palace dating from 1750.

Because our home with the magnificent Bieberstein Castle can be seen from far away, and Italian friends associate the castle (Castello) with the community of Hofbieber, the appropriate name was quickly found.

Castello - an elegant, harmonious Cafe Crema is an organically grown top-quality Arabica coffee from the Chanchamoya growing region in Peru. It grows at an altitude of 1,300 to 1,800 metres in the shade of large trees. The coffee is a light Central American with medium body, pleasant acidity, fine aroma and slightly nutty. It is wonderfully aromatic, very balanced in terms of acidity and body, full-bodied and has a pleasantly fruity and spicy taste.

Vulcano

"One mile behind Portico di Romagna you can see a place called Inferno by the villagers, where the earth is black and dusty and a flame of fire emerges from a 4-foot hole. Here the earth flares up like a match and burns out the wood you put on it.

Because the burning and never extinguishing fire of the Vulcano has captivated us, we visit this place whenever we stay in the partner region. As we are passionate about our partnership, there was no doubt about the name our espresso will be given.

Vulcano - a powerful and intense espresso is a blend of rare Robusta beans and Arabica coffee from India and Oceania. The taste captivates with its bitter chocolate note and a fine crema, combined with soft sweetness.

Castello and Vulcano embody Italian coffee enjoyment, bringing the dolce vita to the Rhön in a harmonious way and thus expressing further ties to Hofbieber and Italy.

The two coffee varieties Castello and Vulcano are available exclusively at the Piazza Unione Montana Acquacheta in the EDEKA market Fleck, Morleser Straße 11, in 36145 Hofbieber.
